this has been in my head since b4 I even finished the show but merman Hannibal who just lives in the Body Of Water near Will’s place (guys there’s some sort of water right?? Or is this some personal Mandela effect). - Hannibal lures animals to the waterfront and then drags them in to eat them. Sometimes people, if he’s lucky. Perhaps he knows a lake or river that connects to the Baltimore harbor. - Will’s dogs notice before he does, a couple of them standing and barking at the edge of the water whenever they’re let outside. Will cannot for the life of him figure out why. - Hannibal loves to watch Will work in the yard, play with the dogs, and especially loves when he gets close to the water’s edge to fish. He thinks sometimes of reaching out to touch him, but it’s just a fantasy, and for now he’s content to observe.

So Wyrm has become a sort of online nickname for me. I even have a tattoo of a “Wyrm on a string” like the 80s toy with dragon wings cuz wyrms are a type of dragon(yes I know they’re a wingless dragon but most people don’t know that.) Mlm is because I love multi level marketing that gay shit

V - If you had to choose one person other than who your favorite character either ends up with, or who you ship them with, who would it be and why?

MAN. I’m not gonna choose one you shan’t ask me to pick my battles because I’m picking all of them on principle. Absolutely insatiable for it.

FIRSTLY. Will.There’s few people I wouldn’t ship Will with in some way shape or form I just think he’s so malleable and able to connect with every other character in ways that are compelling and interesting. Will/Jack is probably my very favorite of these. I like the buddy cop energies of their friendship and also the very similar heartbreak/betrayal angles that can be played up in just the same way as Big Hannigram. Will/Alana is also really damn good with great chemistry and tension and gets a pretty bad rap from haters intentionally misreading 100% of that situation to make Alana out as either stupid or cruel or both. She is such a classic victim of yaoi bullshit, pour one out for her. Will/Matthew Brown is fun in terms of one-off dynamics just for the unique fun of someone looking up to Will as a patron and authority on murder. Kind of a grim teacher’s pet vibe. Will/Molly is fun specifically because it’s kind of thin on the ground in a way that leaves an interesting space open for comparisons and contrasts. The most left-field thing I can think to add here is Will/Freddie. All that animosity and verbal sparring leaves a really interesting space to reach for the stars and just let them polarize with each other like magnets. If they ever stopped fighting with each other they would be unstoppable together.

AND on the other side. Hannibal. The options are a little less all over the place but I really do like Hannibal/Alana and Hannibal/Bedelia and Hannibal&Abigail in a way that wavers on replacing the & with a / . He does absolutely unforgiveable things to all of these women and plays some fucking games with their lives but that is also so with Will and I am an equal opportunity enjoyer of toxic bullshit. I like the genuine professional respect and friendship Hannibal and Alana have and I think the way he alters his behavior to dial up the charm around her is extremely enjoyable. By contrast I get really excited by the tension of Bedelia kind of sticking her hand in the lion’s mouth with Hannibal whenever she can. And I love the way Hannibal and Abigail lock eyes and immediately decide to start blackmailing one another. That’s so great to me. I won’t entirely leave out Hannibal/Jack because I do wish I ever saw the friendship they have in the show reflected in fanwork, but perhaps it’s less about the fact that they’re friends and more about the moments when they are nemeses that makes me go 👀

I - What's an imagined habit/trait of one of your favorite characters? Does it have any basis in the source material?

I'm sure this is stemming straight from seeing so much of the show from Will's perspective and also seeing him do literal monologues as he does his detective schtick, and just. his detective schtick in general. But GOD I cannot help but imagine him as a helpless mumbler. Always having conversations with himself under his breath, making snide little murmured asides nobody else quite catches, laughing dryly at his own jokes in the cereal aisle at the grocery store and making everyone give him weird looks. He's just so darn full of interiority it's the easiest thing in the world to imagine him talking to himself. Just stood at his kitchen counter cleaning fish and inaudibly talking through the finer points of a lecture he'll give next week. Or continuing an argument he had with Hannibal as though Hannibal is there and anticipating all his responses. Perhaps getting mad at something he imagined Hannibal would say and treating him all snippy next time he sees him in reaction.
